The countdown to Justice League is well under way. We only have three weeks until the movie hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

DC Films and Warner Bros. just released a brand new Justice League trailer which provides some much-needed backstory on the film’s main antagonist, Steppenwolf. And it doesn’t wait long to get to it. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman provides a history lesson, “Long before I was born, he came as the spearhead of an alien invasion.” This pretty much confirms what many believed were flashback scenes with the Amazons fighting Steppenwolf’s parademon army. It explains why Robin Wright’s Antiope is seen in the trailers because she is still alive and the events of Wonder Woman and her eventual death had not yet occurred.

The trailer also gives us some more humorous lines from Aquaman and Batman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman tells Batman, “You really are out of your mind.” Then Ben Affleck’s Batman responds in an epic deadpan, “I’m not the one who brought a pitchfork.”

But maybe the best part of the trailer is Steppenwolf asking, “Why does everyone keep telling me that?”
