New Mutants & It's Two Planned Sequels
Fox continues to push the boundaries with their films and New Mutants looks to follow-up Logan and Deadpool’s successes with a horror film.
These New Mutants won’t be students at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Instead, they will be victims of a government-run program where they’re held against their will. Not only are they fighting to control their powers, but their very minds as they try to hold ground against researchers looking to treat them as nothing more than lab rats.
The movie stars Game of Thrones veteran Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Mirage, and Anya-Taylor Joy as Magik.
The film comes out on April 13, 2018.
Director Josh Boone has planned a trilogy of New Mutants films, but whether or not the subsequent two movies get made will most likely be determined by the success of the first film. Not to mention the whole Disney purchasing Fox deal could also throw a wrench in the planned sequels.
