Classic Teen Titans Animated Series Could Get Rebooted According to Voice Actor Tara Strong!

Teen Titans - Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has a hit on their hands in the form of Teen Titans: Go!. The show may have a mixed reception among diehard DC fans, but the kids love it. So much so that the team is bringing their sensibilities to the big screen in Teen Titans: Go! to the MoviesWith a cast featuring Will Arnett as Deathstroke and Jimmy Kimmel as Batman, the film could rank high on the comedy meter. But a long time ago the teenage superhero team looked very different, but sounded exactly the same. The original Teen Titans series ran from 2002-2006, one of the most successful animated series of all time. It continued the success from Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League: Unlimited.

For a long time, many had thought the previous iteration long-dead. The 12 years of the show being off air have helped. But now, thanks to the success of Teen Titans: Go!, the original series might see a reboot.

According to Tara Strong, one of the most prolific and talented voice actors in the game, who worked on both versions of the show, the original Teen Titans animated show might be returning. Strong had some encouraging words for fans of either series.

Which Teen Titans?

Despite featuring many of the same elements, the Teen Titans shows are only similar on the surface level. They star the same characters and feature many of the same settings. However, the tone, style, action, storytelling, and humor is completely different. Teen Titans: Go! is a cartoon of the modern day. More sporadic and non-linear, set entirely within it’s own realm of humor. There are no real stakes, there are no real battles. Though Teen Titans: Go! to the Movies is looking to make things epic, there isn’t a serious bone in its body.

Long before Young Justice ever existed, fans were hoping to see a revival of the original series. Series Producer Michael Jelenic was pretty adamant about the possibilities at this year’s WonderCon.

The producers and animators want to make it. The voice actors want to make it. Oh, and the fans want to make it. The only thing standing in the way is the Box Office results for Teen Titans: Go! to the Movies. Hollywood listens to numbers. No one expects the animated flick to take the world by storm. But if a few fans show up, the studio might be kind enough to give the world a Season 6 of the original Teen Titans animated series.
