DC Comics and Marvel Comics colorist Tamra Bonvillain went on a lengthy Twitter spiel where she declared that Republicans are attempting to legislate her “out of existence.” Bonvillain currently colors a number of books for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics.
Bonvillain is currently coloring Border Town and Nightwing at DC Comics and she’s working on Multiple Man and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur at Marvel Comics.

If people can’t use the bathroom consistent with their gender, that is an effort to exclude us from public life. In schools, it is an effort to prevent trans people from feeling safe to come out and be recognized for who they are.

They’re trying to ban us from the military, one of the largest employers of trans people, since in the vast majority of the country we have no legal protections against employment discrimination.

They’re reversing the interpretations of Title VII and IX, so that sex discrimination no longer counts transgender people, which was how we were getting some degree of legal protections before this administration.

If a trans person becomes homeless, they often can’t find any shelters to take them, because they are mostly sex segregated.

Now they want to make it impossible to update our documentation, or invalidate it if we already have. Immediately outing us in an increasingly hostile environment to trans people, so we will only be more vulnerable to all these issues.
