Here’s a better look:
The knowledge that Nappa would have hair coming into Dragon Ball Super: Broly was revealed during the Dragon Ball Heroes 8th Anniversary event where Masako Nozawa, Bin Shimada, Tatsuya Nagamine, and Akio Iyoku appeared.
Twitter user Todd Frankenship provided notes from the live stream indicating Nappa would be in his 20s or 30s and would appear in the film’s flashback portion, which was highly showcased in the second trailer for the film. Of key importance, is the idea that Nappa had hair despite Saiyans’ hair not supposed to change. It’s unclear why Nappa’s hair would eventually be shaved off when he attacks Earth with Vegeta. Only series creator Toriyama knows what really happened.

Maybe the biggest takeaway from the entire live stream was Masako Nozawa’s comments about the fighting. She described the fighting in the film as the best of any Dragon Ball movie. The fighting is extremely fast-paced, but also color coordinated so you can tell who is who when they are throwing punches at each other. In fact, the fast pacing of the combat had Nozawa, who voices Goku, shouting an attack phrase when in actuality it’s Broly who is on the attack.
Dragon Ball Super: Broly comes to theaters in North America on January 16, 2019. It arrives in Japan on December 14, 2018.
What do you make of Nappa’s design with his hair? What about Raditz? Are you looking forward to Dragon Ball Super: Broly?
