Graphic artist Boss Logic continues his tradition of fan casting actors and his latest sees Dove Cameron becoming Dragon Ball’s Android 18.
Take a look:
Not only did Boss Logic fan cast Dove Cameron as Android 18, but he also added in Dan DeHaan as her twin, Android 17.
Android 18 and Android 17 might be referred to as androids, but they are anything but. As it turns out, the two were actually human twins named Lazuli and Lapis, who were kidnapped by Dr. Gero and modified with advanced bio-organic components. The two twins first appeared during the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z. She shows just how powerful she can be as she takes on Super Saiyan Vegeta. In fact, she appears to take a direct hit from Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack and comes away with only scratches.
The fight would eventually be interrupted by Cell, who absorbs Android 17. Android 18 and Android 16 flee, but not for long as Cell absorbs Andoird 18 as well. Fortunately, Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2 and overpowers Cell forcing him to regurgitate her. She would later be modified when Krillin wishes to the dragon Shenron that her and Android 17’s self-destruct devices be removed.
During the Majin Buu Saga, Android 18 would marry Krillin and become part of the Z fighters. She would also give birth to a daughter, Marron.
Cameron is an up and coming young actress who is currently making her presence felt with Marvel appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Ruby. She’s also giving voice to Gwen Stacy aka Ghost-Spider in the Marvel Rising animated shorts and movies. However, her most well-known role might be as Liv and Maddie Roony on the Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie.
Dave DeHaan is also no stranger to Marvel properties. He took on the role of Harry Osborn aka the Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He also played Major Valerian in last years Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
What do you think of Dove Cameron as Android 18? How about Dave DeHaan as Android 17?
