Kevin Feige Confirms Discussions with Keanu Reeves for Possible Marvel Movie
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirmed he has had discussions with Keanu Reeves about a potential role in an upcoming Marvel film.
Feige spoke with ComicBook where he revealed with a laugh that he’s spoken to Reeves about a possible role.
“We talk to him for almost every film we make. We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”
Feige would go on to compare the amount of discussions they’ve had with Keanu to the “multiple times” they talked with Jake Gyllenhaal before they landed him as Mysterio in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home.
As to what role Reeves could play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recent rumors point to him playing the Eternal Druig in the upcoming Eternals film. Scuttlebutt notes Druig would be the primary villain in the film opposing Sersi and Ikaris.
However, another possibility could be Wolverine. Reeves was recently outspoken about his desire to play fearsome Weapon X.
Reeves told BuzzFeed, “I don’t know. When I was a kid, I always wanted to play Wolverine. So Wolverine.”
He also chose Wolverine over Batman in an interview back in December.
“Of the two, I’d love to play Wolverine.” However, when asked if there was a comic book role he wanted to take on, he responded, “I don’t have one, to be candid.”
Reeves can currently be seen in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which is still in theaters. He will voice Duke Caboom in Disney’s Toy Story 4. And he appears in the Netflix romantic comedy Always Be My Maybe.
Graphic artist Boss Logic has had some fun imagining Reeves in a number of MCU roles including Gambit, Cable, and Winter Soldier.
Do you want to see Keanu Reeves in an upcoming Marvel film? Who would you want to him play?
