A new rumor suggests Keanu Reeves has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming Eternals film as the main villain.

The rumor from 4chan indicates Keanu Reeves is cast as the main villain Druig.

Druig is actually a member of the Eternals and was created by Jack Kirby back in 1977. The character made his first appearance in Eternals #11. Druig played antagonist to Ikaris, rumored to be played by Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, in his debut issue. He was actually a major in the KGB and even reveled in torture. Druig also happened to be one of the KGB’s top assassin trainers. Unlike many of the other Eternals, Druig craved power. This craving for power would bring him into conflict with a number of the Eternals including Ikaris.

Druig and Eternals

More recently, Druig is seen as the ruler of the fictional country Vorozheika. Interestingly enough he also refers to himself as the Lord of Flame and Nightmare.

While he might find himself at odds with Ikaris on a number of occasions, he’s still not above working with him when it comes to combating the Eternals’ primary foe, the Deviants.

Not only does the rumor indicate that Keanu Reeves has been cast to play Druig as the primary villain, but it also indicates Matthew Rhys has been cast as a Young Odin indicating the Eternals might come into conflict with Odin and Asgard. It’s possible it could occur when Odin is busy conquering the Nine Realms with Hela.

The rumor also indicates that Charlie Hunnam has an unknown cameo role. Others rumored to appear in Eternals include Stranger Things and Godzilla: King of the Monsters star Millie Bobby Brown, Luke Evans, Shawnee Smith, and Michael Obibora.

They are rumored to join Kumail Nanjiani and Angelina Jolie who have reportedly been in talks with Marvel Studios to join Eternals.

The film is expected to take place millions of years in the past and showcase the struggle between the Eternals and the Deviants. The movie will be directed by Chloe Zhao.

What do you make of this rumor? Do you want to see Keanu Reeves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Would he make a good Druig?
