Ruby Rose and The CW’s Batwoman Tanks in Ratings and Viewership With Episode 2

Ruby Rose and The CW’s Batwoman tanked in the ratings with the release of episode 2, “The Rabbit Hole” on Sunday night.

TVLine reports the second episode had a 0.3 rating and only had 1.46 million viewers. The first episode had a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 demographic with a 1.86 million viewers. An encore aired on Monday last week that saw the show bring in 1.1 million total viewers.

Without factoring in the encore audience the show had a 36% loss in its rating and an over 22% loss in its total viewers. If you factor in the encore and assume it was all new viewers the total viewer loss was over 50%.

The show’s Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes continues to be in the dumpster with a 12% rating from 5119 user ratings. The average rating is 1.2 out of 5.

However, the critics’ Tomatometer score sits at 69% with an average rating of 6.42 out of 10 from 39 reviews. There are 27 fresh reviews and 12 rotten.

Batwoman airs on Sundays at 8 PM on The CW and exclusively streams on The CW app and website on Mondays.

Supergirl

Not only was Batwoman viewership down, but Supergirl’s ratings and viewership also plummeted. TVLine reports Supergirl dropped to a 0.3 rating with total viewership at 974,000. The premiere episode had a 0.37 rating an 1.263 million viewers. It was a 23% drop in viewership and 25 percent drop in the ratings.

TV Series Finale reports Supergirl averaged a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic with an average of 1.21 million viewers per episode in Season 4.

The show had a much smaller drop off in its viewership and ratings between the first two episodes in Season 4. It premiered with 1.523 million viewers and a 0.45 rating. By the second episode it would have a 0.38 rating and total viewers of 1.341 million. That was a 15% and almost 12% drop.

The show’s Season 4 finale would have a 0.30 rating and total viewership of 1.074 million.

Supergirl’s Rotten Tomatoes score is not nearly as bad as Batwoman. The Audience Score sits at 59% from 63 user ratings. The average rating is 3.1 out of 5.

The critics’ Tomatometer score is at 99% rating with a 7.8 out of 10 average rating from 11 reviews.

Supergirl airs on The CW on Sundays at 9 PM.

The next episode Blurred Lines debuts on October 20th.
