A new rumor details that a young Luke Skywalker will appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.
The rumor comes from DanielRPK and was allegedly posted to his Patreon account.
Reddit user Sidon_Ithano reported the rumor on the StarWarsLeaks subreddit.
Sidon_Ithano recaps the rumor from DanielRPK:
“The ‘scoop’ is currently only available on DanielRPK’s Patreon account. According to RPK, the series will show Obi Wan meeting Luke for the first time since handing him over to Owen and Beru.”

Ithano does caution that the scoop is just a rumor at this point.
“DanielRPK is very hit and miss with his Marvel and DC scoops which he is most known for hence the probably BS tag.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors about a young Luke Skywalker popping up.
Star Wars Rumor: Luke Skywalker Miniseries In Development for Disney+
Back in August there was a rumor circulating that a Luke Skywalker miniseries was actually being developed for Disney+.
That rumor came from TVO at Lords of the Long Box.
He detailed that Disney and Lucasfilm were discussing two ways they could do the show.
The first would see a younger actor take on the role of Luke Skywalker. TVO speculated it could be Sebastian Stan. With a younger actor they would tell a linear story that would take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
The second option would see a pre-The Force Awakens Mark Hamill return to reprise his role. The show would then flash back between Hamill’s Luke Skywalker and a younger version of himself between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Following The Last Jedi and in the lead up to The Rise of Skywalker, it’s more than likely that they would go with the first option given Hamill’s comments regarding returning to the role of Luke Skywalker.
Back in June, Hamill appeared on the red carpet and was asked if The Rise of Skywalker was going to be his last Star Wars appearance. He responded, “I sure hope so.”

As for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Ewan McGregor revealed the show would take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. He also detailed that his character will have to deal with the slaughter of the Jedi and Order 66.
“The Jedi Order was falling apart. It will be interesting to take a character we know in a way and show him—Well, his arc will be quite interesting, I think, dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of Episode III. It’s quite something to get over.”
This time frame has been explored in other medium. Maybe most famously Darth Maul confronts Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine in Star Wars Rebels.
In fact, a young Luke Skywalker is seen running in the desert after his Aunt Beru calls him.
The recent Marvel Star Wars comics also explored this time frame. In Star Wars #7, we see a young Luke Skywalker run afoul of some of Jabba the Hutt’s goons.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is forced into action to protect the young Luke, who was about to be kidnapped and pressed into slavery.
What do you make of this new rumor? If a young Luke Skywalker is shown on Tatooine what do you expect from him?
