A new rumor details that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex is seeking a live-action superhero role.
The Daily Mail reports that Markle has tasked her agent Nick Collins to find her role in an upcoming superhero film.
A source tells the Daily Mail that Collins “wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in something like a superhero film.”
The source adds, “He’s actively seeking such a movie for her. He’s saying she is available and open to the best offers.”
Not only is Collins reportedly seeking a superhero role for Markle, but apparently he’s already setting up meetings. The source states, “Meghan is planning a series of meeting in Hollywood. She has already done the voiceover for Disney and now word is out that she’s looking for a superhero film, as a voiceover or even on screen.”
Not only is Markle seeking a superhero role, but it appears she and her agent have eyes on a Marvel Cinematic Universe role. The source reveals, “Pretty much every A-list actress including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry have starred in superhero movies. There used to be a certain stigma attached to Marvel films but now they are the biggest market in the world. That’s what Meghan wants.”

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA
However, Markle might not be Disney’s top choice for a Marvel superhero. An anonymous Disney executive told The Daily Mail, “Meghan needs Disney more than Disney needs Meghan. She’s a controversial figure.”
The Disney exec added, “There have been reports of a deal but that’s not true beyond the voiceover work.”
At The Lion King premiere, Prince Harry spoke with then Disney CEO Bob Iger about Markle’s voiceover work.
In the video, seen blow, Harry can be seen speaking to Bob Iger telling him, “You know she does voice overs?” He adds, “You seemed surprised but yea, she’s really interested.”
Iger responds, “Sure…We’d love to try.”
