Charles Murphy at Murphy’s Multiverse believes the people attacking Captain America are actually part of an attack on the G20 Summit and have created a hostage crisis.
Murphy revealed an eye witness account from the set of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier that the individuals attacking Captain America are all female.
Twitter user Loburger tells Murphy, “The 2 armored vehicles come to a stop and 4 people run toward them. You can’t tell from the this but all 4 of them appeared to be females and they all wore masks. One of the ‘bad guys’ with the masks had brilliantly bright, long red curly hair.”

Not only did Loburger provide an eyewitness account, but he also shared some new set videos of the scene.
First up, the new female gang stops two armored vehicles.
This next video appears to be a stunt with Captain America leaping off the ground and kicking one of his assailants.
The four female gang members run to the backside of the truck where they are confronted by Captain America and then begin to savagely beat him. Meanwhile, Winter Soldier is rescuing people from the back of one of the trucks. After rescuing everyone, he then goes to the aid of Captain America.
Murphy speculates that the females on set are a group of baddies named the Grapplers. The team was created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, and John Byrne. They first appeared in Marvel Two-in-One #54 in August 1979.
The team was a group of female wrestlers who received superhuman strength through the Power Broker. The original team featured Titania, Letha, Poundcakes, and Screaming Mimi, and was organized by Auntie Freeze.
The Power Broker’s Connections
The Power Broker is a name that keeps coming up in relation to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In the comics it is a criminal organization responsible for empowering various agents throughout the Marvel Universe with abilities above and beyond normal humans. The strengthening of individuals comes at a cost though, with many subjects dying or becoming severely deformed in the augmenting process.
Curtiss Jackson is head of the criminal organization. He eventually undergoes the procedure himself albeit to his detriment as the process deformed him so much that he couldn’t move without the help of an exoskeleton.
The Power Broker granted John Walker and Lemar Hoskins their abilities. Walker becomes the new Captain America and Hoskins would become the new Bucky although he would later take on the name Battlestar.
As noted above, the Power Broker also gives the Grapplers their abilities as well.
It’s possible the Power Broker could be playing both sides in a confrontation with Walker on one side and the Grapplers on the other.
Whether the Grapplers are just there for the one episode and have only a short time to shine like Batroc the Leaper did in Captain America: TheWinter Soldier, it’s unclear at this point.
But who do you think these females are? Is the Power Broker going be a real thing in this series? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below or let’s talk about it on social media!
