The company also acquired the Alien franchise during the acquisition as well and recently announced a new Alien series during the Investor Day 2020 presentation back in December that will be helmed by Fargo’s Noah Hawley in collaboration with Ridley Scott.

The official Disney account tweeted, “Alien is currently in development at FX Networks. The first TV series based on the classic film series is helmed by Fargo and Legion’s Noah Hawley.”

They added, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”

Now, a new rumor claims that they are also developing a Predator franchise.

Edward Lauder at Small Screen claims, “Well, we were then informed by a source who claims to have close ties to Disney that they are also planning on making a Predator series which will be made for Disney Plus STAR in the UK and Europe and Hulu for the United States.”

The source specifically states, “I can tell you that Disney is planning on making a Predator series which will come to Disney Plus Star where you are, in France [and the UK and the rest of Europe]. It’ll come to Hulu in the US.”

They added, “Predator is also being looked at as one of the franchises that Disney can really lean on moving forward. They see it as part of their ‘action-horror’ universe which they are hoping will bring in a wider audience into their streaming services.”

Finally the source claimed, “These properties are being developed for both Disney Plus STAR and Hulu at the moment. However, there is no Alien Vs Predator crossover planned at the moment. This doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. It almost definitely will be a thing Disney will want to make once they get both franchises up and running. Think of it as these franchises Avengers moments.”

No details on what the show would be about were revealed.

While we don’t have details on this rumored Predator series, a Predator 5 film is in development and was announced back in November via Deadline.

The most recent details from AVP Galaxy detailed that the film would feature a female Comanche warrior named Kee as the main character.

A synopsis reads, “Many years ago – in a time before any Europeans had ever encroached on their lands – the Comanche people had a well defined society and gender norms. SKULLS is the story of what happens when one young woman challenges the status quo to become a warrior.”
