The Mandalorian Rumor Claims Grogu Will Use IG-11 As A Mech Suit

A relatively recent rumor for the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian claims that Baby Yoda aka Grogu will use IG-11 as a mech suit.

This new rumor comes from Making Star Wars that bluntly states, “Grogu literally sits inside the chest of a modified IG-11 who has been reinforced with beskar and has been turned into the foundling’s suit of Mandalorian armor.”

On top of IG-11 being Grogu’s suit of armor, Making Star Wars also claims that the droid “gives him data on probabilities of success and protects the child when need be.”

If this sounds familiar, it should. It’s what Rian Johnson did with BB-8 in The Last Jedi. The droid hacks a First Order AT-ST Walker and blasts the docking bay to smithereens with it.

As for IG-11, If you recall the droid blew itself up in one of the dumbest moments in The Mandalorian during the show’s Season 1 finale.

After mowing down numerous stormtroopers while entering a city on Nevarro, IG-11 reunites with Din Djarin, Cara Dune, and Greef Karga.

The group then flees through a number of underground passages before arriving at a lava river and boarding a dilapidated boat.

As the boat is about to exit the into the open, a number of Stormtroopers wait in ambush. In order to escape, IG-11 decides to sacrifice itself  via self-destruction in order to take out the Stormtroopers.

Much like the Death Star in Return of the Jedi, IG-11 is blown to smithereens, and there appears to be absolutely no evidence of the droid left after the explosion.

Nevertheless, this rumor claims that IG-11 will return and he will be used as a type of mechanized armor for Grogu in the third season of The Mandalorian.

It just looks like more of the same with Disney Star Wars and they are now just ripping off their own terrible ideas.

If you didn’t think Disney Star Wars could get worse after their sequel trilogy, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett are handing you their beer and telling you to hold it.
