Rumor: Announcement Of A Restored Snyderverse Could Be Made At San Diego Comic-Con
The return of the Snyderverse could be right around the corner — or at least the preparation for it is. A scoop suggests this DCEU continuity will be restored and the announcement will be made right away.
YouTuber and Snyder-DC analyst Warstu says several sources tell him Warner Bros. Discovery will announce at San Diego Comic-Con, in the brand’s first appearance there since the pandemic hit, that the Snyderverse and most everything that goes with it is coming back.
He claims the studio will restore everything leading out of Zack Snyder’s Justice League which includes the completion of the pitched trilogy in JL sequels 1 and 2, an option for the Ben Affleck Batman movie, and even Man of Steel 2.
This means, if true, Affleck’s appearance in The Flash isn’t a one-off cameo that wraps up his run under the cowl and that the red cape does still belong to Henry Cavill.
What’s more, it’s said there will allegedly be a pay-off to all the rumors and Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the upcoming Black Adam film. A question lingers as to if Big Blue’s appearance in the film is a tease that doesn’t show his face or if Cavill will appear in full, but Warstu hears it will be the latter scenario and Cavill will be making a comeback this year.
He notes he isn’t 100 percent sure but, if it does happen, Warstu predicts WBD will break the Internet and overtake Marvel with all the buzz they generate; albeit only in the short term.
He also postulates the surge in popularity will help the company run from the Amber Heard and Ezra Miller controversies, which are going further south every day. It’s true they are all still in the Snyderverse as Mera and Flash. However, Warstu reminds his viewers they can always be replaced.
We know that’s the case with Miller and a change is in progress; by every account WBD is done with him as soon as they can make some money and wipe their hands of The Flash.
With Heard, things are a bit trickier. Each new report says varying things about her status but it’s a fact stated under oath in court that Walter Hamada tried to get rid of her. And as her reputation diminishes, little doubt is left her days are numbered.
Regardless, according to Warstu, the Snyderverse doesn’t need them. They aren’t as vital as the real key component to the Snyderverse, and that’s Zack Snyder. I.e., it’s not as much the stars or even the DC IP; it’s what he does with it that the restoration movement wants to return.
It might, and the announcement of such may come as soon as this weekend, Warstu’s sources claim. Should this not come to pass then WBD may wait until the next DC FanDome, which hasn’t been talked about much lately.
No matter where it happens, the course correction is still going to take years between Snyder’s work at Netflix and WBD getting the current slate of DC movies released without further incident.
