Kotaku Senior Editor Calumniates Gina Carano As “Transphobe,” Claims She’s “Living” That Carano Got Kicked Off ‘The Mandalorian’ And Was Replaced

Gina Carano is Cara Dune in THE MANDALORIAN, season two, exclusively on Disney+.

Kotaku Senior Editor Alyssa Mercante took to social media to not only defame Gina Carano, but declared her celebratory emotions that Carano was fired from The Mandalorian and replaced by a “muscular lesbian.”

Mercante posted to Twitter writing, “I am living for the fact that The Mandalorian kicked a muscular transphobe off the show and then brought in a muscular lesbian like you know G*na C*rano is seething right now.”

Mercante followed that up writing, “In other, unrelated news, Katy O’Brian please cr*sh my sk*ll”

First off, Gina Carano is not a transphobe despite the false narrative activists like Mercante continue to try and spread.

After being fired from The Mandalorian, Carano appeared on The Ben Shapiro and explained why she refused to go along with transvestite activists demanding she put her pronouns in her Twitter bio.

Carano said, “I ended up putting beep bop boop in my Twitter bio. And it was 100% to go to the Twitter mob that was telling you what to do, and it had zero to do with trying to go after the transgender community because I would never do that.”

She added, “Just me personally, I’m not trying to do target anybody or go out after anybody. And so as soon as I saw people started taking that wrong, I put right after, I was like, ‘No, beep bop beep was like me just saying’ — I literally said to my friend, I was like, “Let’s put something in my bio just to show I can put whatever want in my bio. Just like they put whatever they want in their bio like trash panda and all this stuff.’ So I just put these noises in my bio and then there was this crazy meltdown.

“It was just a big massive meltdown,” she elaborated. “And all the fear and all of the stuff goes straight through your skin and you start, ‘Whoa! What is happening? I told you I didn’t mean this towards this community and you’re misunderstanding it.’ And it was just shock wave went through my body. I was like, ‘Oh! This is what this feels like. This is uncomfortable.'”

Not only is it clear Carano is not a transphobe, Katy O’Brian, who plays Elia Kane or Amnesty Officer G68 did not replace Gina Carano’s Cara Dune character.

O’Brian first appeared in the second season of The Mandalorian when Carano was playing Cara Dune. She appeared in five of the eight episodes of Season 2 as a Communications Officer aboard Moff Gideon’s light cruiser. She first appeared in the fourth episode of Season 2 and would go on to appear in episodes 6, 7, and 8 as well before reprising her role in the third episode of Season 3.

Not sure how O’Brian could have replaced Carano given the two characters are seemingly on opposite sides of the conflict. It’s not like O’Brian’s character became Din Djarin’s go-to hired muscle when he needs help taking on larger prey as he did with Carano’s Cara Dune.

As far as Carano seething, it’s possible but highly unlikely given the obvious nature of Mercante’s lies.

Carano did post a meme on March 19th ridiculing all the craziness happening here on earth. It reads, “I bet aliens ride past earth and lock their doors.”
