It has been a messy road for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. The film has already been delayed, with rumors suggesting that production issues and poor test screenings led Marvel to make the call to reshoot the majority of it.

As Marvel course-corrects, however, rumors also propose that some actors have may found themselves being cut from the film. Such is the case for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who was purportedly set to play the role of King Cobra.

Shira Haas, who is set to play the Israeli superhero Sabra, is one of the members of the cast that has not been cut from the film; not yet, at least. The Israel-born actress was announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in September of 2022 during Disney’s D23 Expo.

First introduced in 1968 in The Incredible Hulk #250, Sabra is a mutant soldier who serves the Mossad (Israeli Secret Service) and whose possesses superhuman abilities that include superhuman strength, regenerative healing factor, as well as the ability to provide allies with some of her own life energy, among others.

Further, Sabra’s many outfits over the years have depicted the superhero sporting the colors of the Israeli flag accompanied with the Star of David.

The announcement of this character’s introduction in the MCU had upset a number of pro-Palestine fans back in 2022, who have opposed both Sabra and Haas’ involvement in the upcoming Captain America film.

Marvel Studios had already addressed any concerns the decision could raise, issuing a statement to Variety shortly after the announcement was made.

“While our characters & stories are inspired by the comics, they are always freshly imagined for the screen and today’s audience, and the filmmakers are taking a new approach with the character Sabra who was first introduced in the comics over 40 years ago,” the studio told the outlet.

Reputable scooper Charles Murphy has seemingly confirmed, however, that Haas’ role has not been cut from the movie. When asked whether there were any update regarding the actress’ involvement in the project, more specifically whether Sabra had been removed from the film, Murphy replied, “I was told they did not.”

Responding to the scoop provided by Murphy, terminally online pro-Palestine fans, amid the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and the Palestine terror group Hamas, took to social media in a desperate attempt to boycott Marvel and the next entry in the Captain America franchise because Haas and her character Sabra are reportedly still in the film.

“Boycott marvel they’re disgusting, pathetic, genocide-supporting, bootlicking pieces of s—t,” wrote a visibly upset X user.

The user then added, “BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT.”
