Artist Turns Game of Thrones Actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster Into Dragon Ball’s Vegeta

Artist The Imaginative Hobbyist recently shared his mockup of Game of Thrones actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Dragon Ball’s Vegeta.

Vegeta is one of the most iconic characters of the Dragon Ball series just behind Goku.

He was formerly a primary antagonist and main villain, who eventually becomes one of Goku’s chief rivals and allies.

Vegeta was first introduced in Dragon Ball Z Chapter 204 “The Needs of the Many” as part of the Raditz Saga. The manga  issue debuted in November 7, 1988 in Weekly Shonen Jump and would debut in English in March 2003.

In his first appearance he’s seen sitting alongside Nappa eating the arm of a dead alien. The two eventually decide to go to Earth to obtain the Dragon Balls with Vegeta hoping to obtain immortality.

Upon arriving on Earth, he allows his Saibamen and Nappa to work over the Z Fighters with Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien, and even Piccolo all falling to them. Eventually Goku arrives and intervenes just as Nappa is about to kill Gohan.

Nappa fails to kill Goku and is rewarded by his failure with death from Vegeta. Goku and then Vegeta decide to duel each other with Vegeta eventually gaining the upper hand after he transforms himself into a Great Ape.

However, Gohan, Krillin, and Yajirobe re-engage Vegeta. While Gohan and Krillin are unsuccessful at cutting off Vegeta’s tail, Yajirobe succeeds. Eventually, Krillin obtains a Spirit Bomb from Goku and is able to hurl it at Vegeta. The attack greatly damages, but does not finish him. What does end up crippling Vegeta is Gohan transforming into a Great Ape.

After being defeated by Goku and the Z-Fighters, Vegeta retreats and recovers. He quickly discovers that Frieza is seeking out the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek and heads there to obtain the Dragon Balls before Frieza.

Discovering Vegeta’s betrayal, Frieza orders his henchman Cui to kill the Saiyan Prince. Cui eventually discovers that Vegeta’s power level has greatly increased and pays the price for challenging the Saiyan. Vegeta easily disposes of him.

Vegeta would go on to execute Frieza’s henchman Dodoria as well before being brutally beaten to within an inch of his life by a transformed Zabron. After recovering, Vegeta would once again battle Zarbon, but given his near-death experience his power level has once again increased and he easily deals with Zarbon.

Vegeta would then do battle with Frieza’s Ginyu Force. He first defeats Guldo, but easily falls to Recoome.  However, Vegeta would continue to fight gaining more power as he fights the rest of the Ginyu Force.

After being victorious against the Ginyu Force, Vegeta comes face to face with Frieza. The encounter would not end well for him with Frieza putting him out of his misery after beating him to a pulp.

Vegeta is eventually resurrected and transported to Earth where he attempts to seek out Goku. However, he is unable to find him and returns to Earth where he encounters Future Trunks and is warned about the impending terror of the Androids.

Seeing Future Trunks obtain Super Saiyan, Vegeta dedicates himself to his training and eventually forms an intimate relationship with Bulma and have a son named Trunks.

Vegeta would continue to battle alongside the Z-Fighters throughout the Cell Saga and discovers that Goku and Gohan are not only stronger fighters than him, but also are morally superior to him. At the end of the Cell Saga, he settles down with his family and begins to show deep affection and truly cares about them.

During the Majin Buu Saga, Vegeta would come under the mind control of Babidi and turn him into Majin Vegeta. However, Vegeta resists Babidi’s mind control to an extent declaring he will only fight Goku. During his fight with Goku, he tells his rival that he let Babidi take him over in order for his evil nature to resurface so he could fight Goku.

The two are evenly matched, but Majin Vegeta would gain the upper hand with a blindside attack on Goku that knocks him out.

Vegeta eventually sacrifices himself in an attempt to defeat Buu, but the attack fails as Buu regenerates from his broken pieces.

However, he’s given another chance at fighting Buu and merges with Goku to form Vegito to take on Super Buu.

After launching an internal attack on Super Buu, Vegeta and Goku separate with Vegeta destroying the Potara rings allowing them to merge. However, Super Buu would survive and transforms into Kid Buu.

Kid Buu is eventually defeated by the combination of Vegeta’s cunning mind who makes three wishes using the Namekian Dragon Balls combined with Goku launching a Super Spirit Bomb.

Vegeta’s journey would continue following the Majin Buu Saga into Dragon Ball Super where he encounters Whis and Beerus and takes part in the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, the Golden Frieza Saga, the Universe 6 Saga, the Copy-Vegeta Saga, the Future Trunks Saga, the Universe Survival Saga, the Broly Saga, and the current the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga.

The Imaginative Hobbyist would share his mockup of Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Vegeta to Instagram.

He wrote, “Saiyan Prince Thomas Brodie-Sangster for some late night photoshop fun.”

Brodie-Sangster played Jojoen Reed in Game of Thrones. He also played Newt in The Maze Runner and voiced Ferb Fletcher in Phineas and Ferb. More recently he portrayed Whitey Winn in the Godless TV mini-series and will play Benny in the upcoming The Queen’s Gambit TV mini-series.
