‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3’ Confirms Release Date, Will Feature “More CGI” Than Previous Seasons
The Bankai-ype for Bleach fans is higher than the Soul King’s palace right now, as hot off the heels of Bandai Namco’s official reveal of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, the upcoming third season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has officially received both a new trailer and a release date.
Debuting on July 6th during the series’ panel at the 2024 Anime Expo, the trailer kicks off by highlighting all the Bankai featured in the first two seasons of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, the roll call ultimately ending on with the reveal that Gotei 13 Captain Commander and its 1st Division Commander Shunsui Kyoraku’s (CV: Akio Otsuka, All for One – My Hero Academia) Bankai, the Katen Kyoukotsu Kuromatsu Shinjuumake, will soon be making its long awaited anime debut.
The Conflict’s action packed trailer then proceeds to tease a further destructive clash between protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki (CV: Masakazu Morita – Whis, Dragon Ball Super) and the Quincy King Yhwach (CV: Takayuki Sugo – Iwao Hazuki, Shenmue the Animation), the whole of the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the Material World hanging in the balance.
Throughout Ichigo’s fight with the Quincy King, the trailer showcases some of the highly anticipated fights that Bleach: Thousand-Blood War Part 3 – The Conflict has in store, including 12th division captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi (CV: Ryusei Nakao – Frieza, Dragon Ball series) and his assistant lieutenant Nemu Kurotsuchi’s (CV: Rie Kugimiya – Tatiana in Undead Unluck) scientific smackdown against the Soul King’s Left Hand Sternritter Pernida Parkngja (CV: Bin Shimada – Broly, Dragon Ball Series), The X axis Sternritter Lille Barro’s (CV: Satoshi Hino – Kyojuro Rengoku in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) epic shootout with Gotei 13 Captain Commander Shunsui Kyoraku, and Ichigo’s long awaited confrontation with Uryuu Ishida (CV: Noriaki Sugiyama – Shirou Emiya, Fate/Stay Night)
After the panel, Viz Media posted a message from Producer Yoshihiro Tominaga, Chief Series Director and Supervisor Tomohisa Taguchi, and new series Director Hikaru Murata, wherein the trio discussed what fans could expect to see in the upcoming season..
For his part, Taguichi revealed that similar to previous seasons, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Part 3 – The Conflict will include original content, as created in partnership with series creator Tite Kubo, telling fans, “We worked with Kubo-sensei again to create new scenes that would supplements the stories covered in the original manga.
“We’re continuing the trend by adding scenes the fans would be excited about,” Tominaga added. “Lots more actually. So I’m sure everyone can look forward to that.”
Finally, Murata proceeded to emphasize that his aim in taking over the series from previous director Tomohisa Taguchi was to “maintain the animation quality established by everyone from Part 2.”
“But if I am to address any changes, we are applying more CGI than Part 2,” he added. “So I’m hoping the fans can look forward to seeing the improved quality of the animation.”
As revealed at the conclusion of the trailer, Bleach: Thousand-Blood War is set to continue its march against Yhwach this October 3rd exclusively on Hulu (or Disney Plus for international viewers).
