Crunchyroll announced that High Guardian Spice created by Raye Rodriguez will be released as part of their Crunchyroll Originals 2020 slate.

Crunchyroll previously announced the show would be released in 2019.

Following that announcement, the show was heavily criticized.
You’re asking America Based CR if they’re going to have a Japanese DUB?? (w/ subtitles?) of an American CARTOON (if it’s not from Japan it’s Not Anime)…It’s like a Snake eating its own tail

It’s not anime lol.

Given how society works now days I can’t actually tell if this is a committed artistic team with an actual goal and dreams or just another LGBT+SJW look-at-us-we-matter thing. Being almost all female is irrelevant, what matters is the final product. Hope it’s genuinely artistic.

Nobody cares about the gender of the creators, what matters is it actually good. You seem to be focusing a lot on the female staff as the main selling point I’m going to assume it won’t be exactly the best.

The show would be finished in late 2019. Show creator Raye Rodriguez announced the show wrapped production back in November 2019 while also announced she had her last day at Crunchyroll at the beginning of November 2019.
Rodriguez wrote on Twitter, “Now it’s just a matter of time when Hime-Sama wills it to be released into the wild.”
Soooooooo… it was my last day at Crunchyroll a week and a half ago! High Guardian Spice has wrapped, now it’s just a matter of when Hime-Sama wills it to be released into the wild. I animated a bouncy Rosemary in my now copious amounts of freetime to celebrate ✌️😊 pic.twitter.com/09WwqPZkcX
