Crunchyroll Announces Nominees for Their Annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards

Crunchyroll just announced their nominees for their annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are described as “a celebration of the best and brightest in Japanese animation from 2019, all made possible by the world’s most passionate community. Now entering its fourth year, the Anime Awards’ commitment to commemorating the best of the best is stronger than ever with support and engagement from fans all over the globe.”

Along with announcing the nominees, which can be seen below, they also announced that WWE Superstar Xavier Woods will host the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2020.

The awards will be presented on February 15, 2020 at 5:00 PM PST. Presenters for the awards will be Gibi, SungWon Cho, Cole Gallian, Miranda Sanchez, Tristan Gallant, Mark Phillips, Geoffrey Thew, Kiera Please, LilyPichu, Anthony Carboni, Dominique “SonicFox” McLean, and Connor Colquhoun.

It will be livestreamed from Crunchyroll’s headquarters in San Francisco.

Winners are chosen by fans who can vote at the Anime Awards website from Friday January 10 to Friday, January 17. Fans are able to vote every single day with voting resetting every day at 12 AM PST.

In the case of a tie, a committee of judges will act as a tiebreaker.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2020 will honor George Wada with their Industry Icon award.

Wada is the president of Wi Studio. He previously worked as a producer at Production I.G., the studio behind Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. He would then form Wit Studio in 2012. The studio has gone on to produce Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress,and The Ancient Magus’ Bride.
