The first trailer for the next animated entry in the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, has officially dropped, giving audiences their first look at both the film’s CG art direction and the apparent return of a fan favorite antagonist-turned-ally.
Premiering on October 7th during the New York Comic Con Dragon Ball panel, the trailer warns that the Z Fighters will face “a new crisis” and “an evil organization moving in the shadows,” before ending with a hopeful cry of, “rise up our hero!”

Alongside these teaser messages, the trailer also revealed new looks at the film’s two new Cyborg 009 / Ultraman inspired ‘super heroes,’ Gamma 1 and Gamma 2:
A young Pan, presumably training to unlock her latent Saiyan potential:
And, the supposed return of Broly, who can be briefly seen punching – and subsequently obliterating – the ground in front of Goku.
However, it should be noted that it is currently unknown whether this is actually Broly, newly arrived on Earth following his narrow escape to Planet Vampa, or some sort of ‘image training’ exercise:
The film’s production team also released new character design sheets for Bulma, Dende, and Korin.
