Rent-a-Girlfriend Mangaka Reiji Miyajima Shares Pinup Of Chizuru Mizuhara To Celebrate Selling Over 5 Million Copies!

The popular comedy manga series Rent-a-Girlfriend has surpassed the five-million sales mark following the premiere of the series’ anime adaptation.

Rent-a-Girlfriend follows the story of Kazuya Kinoshita, a young man who hires Chizuru Mizuhara to act as his girlfriend after being unceremoniously dumped by his ex-girlfriend.

However, trouble arises when Kazuya’s bed-ridden grandmother meets Chizuru and begins to sing her praises.

In order to keep up appearances, Chizuru agrees to continue being ‘rented’ by Kazuya, but as the series progresses, Kazuya finds himself in various love triangles involving Chizuru and the other girls who work at her girlfriend-rental company.

According to Crunchyroll, in November 2019, the series had sold 2.5 million copies.

In a period of seven months, as reported by June sales numbers prior to the anime’s debut episode, the series managed to surpass the four million mark.

Following the series’ debut, Rent-a-Girlfriend sold an average of 1 million copies in just over a month, pushing the total number of volumes sold over 5 million.

On his personal Twitter account, managaka Reiji Miyajima shared a new illustration of Chizuru Mizuhara in celebration of achieving this milestone:
