Dark Horse Comics announced a brand new graphic novel from Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 director S. Craig Zahler.
This new graphic novel titled Organisms From An Ancient Cosmos is written and drawn by Zahler and sees an alien spacecraft arrive over the Pacific Ocean. The nations of the world greet this seemingly silent visitor with brute force leading to widespread destruction on both sides.
However, the battle and the aliens presence still leaves numerous unanswered questions. Who are they? Where did they come from? Why did they choose to come to Earth? Are more on the way?
The story follows bereaved billionaire Carlton Land, biologist Aimee O’Donnell and USAAF Chief Scientist Kenneth Yamazaki as they attempt to answer these questions and protect Earth and humanity from these aliens.
As part of the press release for the book, Zahler provided some more details, “In this graphic novel, which is my second, I explore morally complex characters, intimate human drama, large-scale world building, and speculative science.”
He added, “I began working on the piece at the very beginning of lockdown and finished more than a year later when I received my first vaccine. Creating ‘Organisms from an Ancient Cosmos’ was an incredibly gratifying experience, and I’m thrilled to have it published by Dark Horse Comics, whose books I’ve read since the eighties.”
Dark Horse will publish the graphic novel in an oversized hardcover format and it will go on sale on October 18, 2022. It will retail for $29.99.
