Murphy teases that the new project will be hitting comic book shelves in 2019.
As to whether this project will be Azrael focused or a potential White Knight sequel, Murphy gave a cryptic response.
Good question. You’ll find out soon! https://t.co/23yypimc0p

While this Azrael pin-up teases the brand new project, Murphy has been sharing a number of WIP (Work in Progress) pages over the past few months.

Work in progress! NONE of you will ever guess what this is for. (Translation: ALL of you pretty much know what this is for)#BestReadersInComics pic.twitter.com/oc59UqcNVE

If these WIPs are actually part of the same project that the Azrael pin-up is attached to, it definitely appears that Batman will be playing a role.

There was also a WIP of Commissioner Gordon.

While Murphy was being coy about whether or not this is a Batman: White Knight sequel, my gut indicates that it will be.
Murphy confirmed that Batman: White Knight would be joining DC’s Black Label imprint back in June.
Batman: White Knight will be DC’s 1st BLACK LABEL imprint. Which means–wait for it–first NUDE Joker/Harley love scene!!! https://t.co/iI7HTZcVaU

He also revealed that the Black Label version of Batman: White Knight would be released next year.
2) I expect the unedited Adult rated version (which I referred to in earlier tweets) will likely be released next year.

It would make sense for DC to release the Black Label version of Batman: White Knight just ahead of when the sequel will first hit shelves.
What do you think Sean Gordon Murphy is up to? Will it be a potential Azrael solo series or is this a sequel to [easyazon_link identifier=”1401279597″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Batman: White Knight[/easyazon_link]?
