Dark Horse To Publish Disney’s The Lion King Tie-In Graphic Novel
Dark Horse announced they will publish a graphic novel anthology that will expand on director Jon Favreau’s upcoming The Lion King film.
The graphic novel, Disney The Lion King: Wild Schemes and Catastrophes will be written by John Jackson Miller.
The anthology will take “you into the wild through the vast landscapes of the Pride Lands for a closer look into the life of young Simba and what awaits him as the lion king.”
The anthology will contain four stories focusing on Simba as a cub. The first will see Simba learn just how difficult it is to be a king.The second will see the classic comedy duo of Timon and Pumbaa find themselves in an odd situation. The third story will focus on Simba and Nala as they trek down an unknown path. Finally, the fourth story will have a focus on Rafiki and his wise words.
Disney The Lion King: Wild Schemes and Catastrophes will be 72 pages in length. It will retail for $10.99 and is expected to go on sale on June 4, 2019.
This graphic novel continues Disney’s partnership with Dark Horse which has now published a number of comics and graphic novels including Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, The Incredibles, [easyazon_link identifier=”1506712657″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Toy Story 4[/easyazon_link], Aladdin, Dumbo, and more!
Disney’s The Lion King from director Jon Favreau stars Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, James Earl Jones, Keegan-Michael Key, Billy Eichner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amy Sedaris, Beyoncé, John Kan, John Oliver, and more!
The film will be a CGI re-imagining of Disney’s 1994 classic. It will hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
