The Dark Multiverse Will Reign Terror In DC’s Upcoming Event ‘Dark Knights: Metal’

DC unveiled seven different one-shot comics that will tie into their upcoming Dark Knights: Metal event. Each of these one-shot comics will feature a different, corrupted version of Batman spawned from the Dark Multiverse to wreak havoc on Earth.

“With names like The Red Death, The Murder Machine, The Dawnbreaker, The Drowned, The Merciless, The Devastator and The Batman Who Laughs, it’s pretty clear that these creatures mean business and prove just how dangerous the Dark Multiverse will be for DC’s heroes,” said Patrick McCallum, DC Entertainment Executive Editor.

The corruption and terror begins on September 20th with Batman: The Red Death #1 by writer Joshua Williamson and artist Carmine Di Giandomenico. Frank Tieri and artist Ricardo Federici follow it up with Batman: The Murder Machine #1 on September 27. Then Sam Humphries and artist Ethan Van Sciver give us Batman: The Dawnbreaker #1 on October 4th. Dan Abnett and artist Philip Tan collaborate on Batman: The Drowned #1 on October 18th. Finally, Peter J. Tomasi and Francis Manapul round out the month with Batman: The Merciless #1 on October 25th.

Two more one-shots will hit shelves in November. Batman: The Devastator #1 will hit on November 1st and then The Batman Who Laughs #1 will be available on November 15th.

While the Dark Multiverse begins to infect and corrupt Earth a number of DC’s deadliest Super-Villains aim to bring down Gotham once and for all. However, Gotham’s bravest will fight for the city’s very soul in the crossover series “Gotham Resistance.” It all begins with Teen Titans #12 written by Benjamin Percy and art by Mirka Andolfo on September 13th. Following Teen Titans #12, Tim Seeley and Paul Pelletier team up with Nightwing #29 on September 20. Then the story continues in Suicide Squad #26 from Rob Williams and Stjepan Sejic on September 27th.

”With the combination of an event comic helmed by two of the most talented creators in comic history a legion of evil Batmen and crossover titles that show just how deeply this event impacts the DCU, fans will know now more than ever that DARK NIGHTS: METAL is something not to be missed,” said McCallum.

Each of the Dark Multiverse Batman one-shots will be $3.99 with a special foil stamped cover with a protective UV coating by Jason Fabok.
