DC Comics has canceled their ongoing Super Sons and Supergirl comic titles.
Super Sons writer Peter J. Tomasi confirmed the cancellation, “Wow! The love and sadness for Super Sons being cancelled is knocking me out! So, before too much time passes let me be the first to tell you that I’m not done with our toy favorite boys and new news will be forthcoming soon!”

He then went on to explain the book is not being canceled because of poor sales.
“Good Crikey my Twitter account is exploding! Brothers and sisters, keep thinking good things! It is not being cancelled for bad sales. There are plans afoot I can’t share at this early juncture but you will be happy with the results – Super Sons lives!”

He also added, “But hey now! Remember, keep your love for the last few issues of Super Sons going, lots of fun to be had with some emotional tugs waiting around the corner, and it shows that you continue to support the book/characters as we prep the new stuff coming yer way!”

Supergirl writer Steve Orlando also confirmed the book’s cancellation.
He wrote, “While the story that began in Supergirl:Rebirth concludes in #20, I couldn’t be more grateful for what we’ve accomplished in #Supergirl. Wherever Kara goes next will be amazing! Thank you all for your incredible support, for this singular run, and to my co-creators and editors!”

He added, “It has been an honor, and a pleasure, to add new layers and moments to Kara’s world. And I can’t wait to show you what’s coming next with #TheUnexpected! I could not be luckier to work with Ryan Sook and Cary Nord, making the biggest #comics I’ve been part of yet!”

He concluded, “‘Compassion means not picking and choosing who you care about, even if you fear them.’ Kara has taught me a great many things over the past two years.”

DC Comics also canceled Batgirl and the Birds of Prey following issue #22 in May. Bombshells United also got the axe, but it will be getting its own digital-first series beginning this summer.

Other DC Comics book could also be on the chopping block. Titans, Teen Titans, Harley Quinn, and Justice League of America were not in DC Comics’ May 2018 solicitations.
However, they could just be on hiatus as Scott Snyder is rolling out his new Justice League: No Justice miniseries which will incorporate the Justice League, Justice League of America, Teen Titans and Titans. Snyder also hints there will be teams spinning out of No Justice after it concludes. It’s quite possible those characters will be reorganized in brand new teams!
JL: NO JUSTICE is a mini every week of May, rolling in JL, JLA, TT, T and spinning out some new books, some new versions of existing books. Rosters in NO JUSTICE are part of the mystery of that story. No spoilers about teams spinning out after! https://t.co/NE6rpi5GJU
