AfterShock Comics continues their strong relationship with Justin Jordan as they give us a first look at his brand new series, Backways, with artist Eleonora Carlini.
Along with artist Eleonora Carlini, Jordan will team with colorist Silvie Tidei and letterer Marshall Dillon,
Backways will tell a story about a hidden nation. A nation of magic and madness that exists in the forgotten spaces. The spaces in your basement, your attic, and the haunted house down the street. They all could be part of the Backways. Now, Anna Merrick has lost someone in the Backways and she will do everything in her power to get them back. Anything and everything including unleashing something unimaginable!
Jordan teased a little bit about the story, “There’s nothing else on the shelves like Backways. It’s a fun story in a world like you’ve never seen, but if that doesn’t sell you on it, just look at Eleonora’s art.”
He also expressed his excitement about continuing to work with AfterShock Comics, “This is my second series with Aftershock, and I’ve really enjoyed working with them. They’ve helped me tell the stories I wanted to tell better than I could tell them on my own, which is what I am always looking for in a creative partner.”
Take a look at Eleonora Carlini’s gorgeous pages as well as a variant cover by Ben Templesmith:
Jordan is right. Carlini’s artwork is phenomenal. The emotion she captures as the young girl is sucked into the mirror is out of this world! The book also seems to have a Stranger Things vibe or even the Chronicles of Narnia.
I think I’ll definitely be picking this one up when its hits comic book shelves on December 20, 2017!
