Image Comics Announces New Series Vindication – Will Explore Race and Criminal Justice System

Image Comics announced a brand new series, Vindication, from writer MD Marie and artists Carlos Miko and Dema Jr. that will explore race and the criminal justice system.

Image Comics is describing the new series as timely as it will release from Image/Top Cow in February during Black History Month.

Here’s the official description from Image:

“In turbulent times, when cops are often portrayed as enemies of the people, Detective Chip Christopher walks the blurred blue line between racism and due diligence in order to do his job. And right now, it’s his job to investigate Turn, a young black man with a sketchy past who was previously exonerated of a similar slaying.”

“So many beautiful colors are dimmed by myopia,” said MD Marie. “I want to provide a lens that lets in a little light.”

In the press release from Image Comics they compare the series to [easyazon_link identifier=”0062872346″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Hate U Give[/easyazon_link] and [easyazon_link identifier=”B00HDZO8AS” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Fruitvale Station[/easyazon_link] calling it a “timely and evocative cat-and-mouse story about a cop bent on catching a murderer.”

The cover is by Jonathan Davis. Take a look at the preview pages:
