BOOM! Studios and Amulet Books, an imprint of ABRAMS, have signed a deal to expand BOOM! Studios’ bestselling Lumberjanes series into an original middle-grade fiction series as well as other formats that will further explore the world of Lumberjanes.
New readers will be introduced to Miss Quinzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types. They will also meet the five scouts of Roanoke cabin – Jo, April, Molly, Mal, and Ripley who hang out with their best friends, earn Lumberjane scout badges, and annoy their nosense counselor Jen…and they go on supernatural adventures!
The upcoming novel series will be penned by author Mariko Tamaki with black-and-white illustrations by Lumberjanes co-creator Brooke Allen. The novels will feature original adventures including back stories for scouts Jo, April, Molly, Mal, and Ripley. They will also introduce a a wide variety of new supernatural mischief-makers around the camp for Hardcore Lady Types.
The first novel is expected to be published later this year in October with a first printing of 150,000 copies.

The first novel will see the Lumberjanes hike up the tallest mountain they’ve ever seen led by the challenge-loving April. However, the hike doesn’t go as planned. The mountain might not be a mountain and there will also be unicorns!
