Marvel Comics will be adding Jimmy Kimmel into the Marvel Universe with the release of West Coast Avengers #4.
Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski noted how excited he was to have Kimmel join the Marvel Universe by revealing a variant cover by David Nakayama that homages Avengers #239.
It’s an absolute thrill for all of us here at @Marvel to welcome @jimmykimmel into our universe in West Coast Avengers #4! And as I was a huge fan of Avengers #239 as a kid, I adore this homage cover by @DavidNakayama!! pic.twitter.com/odPxR5od9K

Along with Kimmel making an appearance in West Coast Avengers #4, the team will also debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! However, it only appears it will be the comic book version of Kimmel and not an actual appearance on the show.
According to Marvel, Kate Bishop, the leader of the West Coast Avengers will be put to the test as “she and the WCA try to convince the TV-viewing audience that they can come together and save the day.”
Series editor Alanna Smith explained why they wanted to debut the series on Jimmy Kimmel:
“We wanted the new West Coast Avengers to be able to debut to the rest of the Marvel Universe in a big, bombastic way—and what’s a better place for a team that’s courting the LA limelight to debut than ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’? (Or, at least, the Marvel U equivalent!)”
This won’t be the first time a Marvel superhero has found themselves on a talk show. Back in Avengers #239, Clint Barton appeared on Late Night with David Letterman.
West Coast Avengers #4 will be written by Kelly Thompson with art by Stefano Caselli.
Here’s the official solicitation:
• If the team thought a 50-Foot Woman version of Tigra was trouble, just wait till they get a load of her “friends.”
• That’s right, it’s close encounters of the very large and destructive kind as the West Coast Avengers try to save the day from B-movie-monster-sized threats roaming Los Angeles!
• And while her team takes the direct approach, Kate Bishop finds herself in a compromising position when trying to get ahead of the game… Is she going to end up on the wrong side of this battle?!
West Coast Avengers #4 will hit comic book shelves on November 21, 2018.
