Marvel Announces The Wedding of the Century Between Kitty Pryde and Colossus

Marvel’s Wedding of the Century finally has their bride and groom. In the upcoming X-Men Gold #30 comic, Kitty Pryde will marry Colossus. Marvel sent out their Save the Date’s for the big day back in November, but didn’t let us in on who was getting hitched.

Marvel just confirmed the wedding will be between Kitty Pryde a.k.a. Shadowcat and Piotr Nikolaievitch a.ka. Colossus.

The two even sent out a wedding invite via YouTube showing Kitty in her wedding dress and Colossus in his suit. While the invitation does not reveal the date, the previous Save the Date informed us the wedding would take place on June 20, 2018.

Kitty just proposed to Colossus in this week’s X-Men Gold #20 after Colossus almost died in The Negative Zone.

I don’t know about you, but I always heard it was bad luck to see the bride in her wedding dress before the wedding. And that sure seems to be the case because once you get to the end of their invitation it asks, “What could possibly go wrong?”

And there’s been plenty of thing that have gone wrong in previous Marvel weddings. Ant-Man and the Wasp’s wedding was attacked by the Circus of Crime. Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman’s wedding saw Doctor Doom and a legion of supervillains crash the party. Wolverine’s wedding to Mariko Yashida was ruined by Mastermind when he psyionically compelled Mariko to reject Wolverine and begin dealing with the criminal underworld. If two Marvel superheroes are getting married, the ceremony usually comes under attack. But who do you think might want to interrupt Kitty Pryde and Colossus’ wedding? Could they be looking to take out one of the two X-Men or could they be aiming for a guest who might be attending the ceremony?

But more importantly who is going to be Kitty Pryde’s Maid of Honor and who will her bridesmaids be? What about Colossus’ best man and his groomsman? Who do you think will be in the wedding party. I’d bet Magik is at least one of Kitty Pryde’s bridesmaids!

X-Men Gold #30 will be written by Marc Guggenheim with artwork by Paulo Siquiera.
