Marvel unveils two new titles spinning out of Inhumans vs. X-Men, X-Men Gold and X-Men Blue.
“Following an era where the X-Men were on the back foot, fighting for the survival of their species, we wanted to take a moment to exhale and indulge in the kinds of big, beautiful, colorful stories that portray the X-Men at their best,” says Editor Daniel Ketchum. “It’s a return to form, with spandex costumes rather than body armor, softball games on the school lawn, and the X-Men on a proactive mission to be the greatest heroes of all time—to human and mutant alike.”
Marc Guggenheim teams with Ardian Syaf for X-Men Gold that will bring together the X-Men’s biggest guns. Kitty Pryde returns to earth and finds the X-Men in shambles. They might have survived the war with the Inhumans, but it came at a great cost. Kitty reasserts her leadership and assembles an iconic X-Men team with Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, and Rachel Grey to take mutantkind into the future and make the world a better place.
In X-Men Blue Cullen Bunn teams with Jorge Molina to reassemble the time-displaced original X-Men with Jean Grey at the helm. Following her are Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. They will set out to create Charles Xavier’s vision of a world that no loner hates and fears mutantkind. Throwing a wrench in the story is that Jean Grey and her team will receive an assist from Magneto. Why would these X-Men ally themselves with the man they once swore to defeat? And can the former mutant terrorist be trusted?
Both X-Men Gold and X-Men Blue hit comic book shelves in April.
