Comic book artist and creator Timothy Lim announced that he and YouTuber Nerkish dropped out of the Cash Grab project via Twitter and were leaving the project to Cecil aka Dick and Comix.
Lim explained he and Nerkish were leaving the project “due to influencers within Comics Gate & personal reasons beyond [their] control.”
Due to influencers within Comics Gate & personal reasons beyond our control, Nerkish & I are leaving the Cash Grab project.
Cash Grab is now officially Cecil’s, & we wish @dickandcomix the very best wherever he decides to take it.@NerkishTonight @Miss_Sashi @MrJeremyTurner

It’s unclear whether or not Cecil was informed about Lim and Nerkish dropping from the project before the announcement, but it appears that the announcement was news to Cecil.
Whaaaaaaaat?

Cecil would announce later that the entire project was cancelled, and he asked for folks not to harass Nerkish or Lim.
Thanks to everyone for all of the love & support today. I was stunned but I’ll be fine. Cash Grab is dead but this experience has inspired me to keep on creating. I’d like to ask a personal favor for you guys not to harass @Nerkish or @POTUSThump over this. I only wish them well.

If you are unfamiliar with Cash Grab, it was an upcoming comic book project that was being written by Nerkish and Cecil with art by Timothy Lim.
Cecil had released a brief description of the project as well as Lim’s cover work teasing the project back in September.
The story was going to focus on Nerkish and Cecil’s online personas in the city of Comics Gate. The city is normally a peaceful place, but that peace is eventually broken and the only two people who can set it right are Nerkish and Cecil. Nerkish’s character is described as a foul-tempered leviathan who is a half nerd, half jerk, all asshole. While Cecil would have been a portly social justice warrior who is a drug-addled alcoholic with a sense of entitlement.

He had also revealed preliminary concept from Timothy Lim back in August.

What do you make of the cancellation of Cash Grab? Were you looking forward to Cash Grab?
