Marvel Comics Announces Spider-Man and Black Cat Wedding

Marvel Comics announced a wedding between Spider-Man and Black Cat in their November solicitations.

The wedding will allegedly take place in Black Cat Annual #1 by writer Jed Mackay and artist Javier Pina. The issue will feature a main cover by J. Scott Campbell. Variant covers will be done by Campbell, Todd Nauck, and others.

Here’s the official solicitation:

“You are cordially invited to the wedding of Black Cat and Spider-Man!
• In lieu of gifts, please turn off all your security systems, laser grids and counterweight giant stone traps.
• All this AND a bonus story?!”

The issue will be 40 pages in length and will retail at $4.99.

Peter Parker and Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat previously got married in What If? #21. However, their marriage ended in tragedy with Paladin killing Black Cat.

Spider-Man aka Peter Parker would find solace in the arms of Silver Sable.

The last time Marvel announced a wedding in their solicitations it was to take place in X-Men Gold #30. The wedding was supposed to be between Kitty and Colossus. However, they never tied the knot. Instead, Gambit and Rogue got married.

It’s possible Black Cat and Spider-Man won’t get married. In the solicitations for Black Cat #6, Felicia Hardy breaks off her faux relationship with Johnny Storm, and she’s got a date with a mystery character.

It reads:

” Things didn’t quite work out between Felicia and Johnny Storm (maybe because it was at least half just a way into 4 Yancy St).
• So the Black Cat has a REAL date. But with WHO?!?!
• Meanwhile, she doesn’t know Odessa Drake and the Thieves Guild have captured her mentor The Black Fox and have horrible plans for him.”
