Nicola Scott Calls Out Marvel Comics #1000 Cover Art for Using Her DC Comics Art

Artist Nicola Scott cheekily called out Marvel Comics after it was discovered the company used her DC Comics art from [easyazon_link identifier=”1401242812″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Earth 2 #2[/easyazon_link] on a solicited cover for Marvel Comics #1000.

Here’s a good look at the original collage variant.

The mistake was originally spotted by Twitter user KaleeshArbiter, which features Earth 2’s Green Lantern Alan Scott kissing his partner Sam.

The creator of the collage variant cover Mr. Garcin apologized for the mistake and noted he got the picture from the internet.

He would also apologize to Nicola Scott in a similar statement.

There will be at least 13 different covers including Mr. Garcin’s collage variant. Variant covers will be done by Mike Allred, Mark Bagley, Mark Brooks, Alex Ross, Greg Hildebrandt, Ron Lim, Ed McGuinness, Greg Smallwood, Julian Totino Tedesco, and Skottie Young.

Garcin’s collage variant will also be available in a poster.

It’s unclear if the collage variant will be adjusted by the time it hit comic book shelves.

The book is expected to hit comic book shelves on August 28, 2019.
