1. Hellboy Winter Special 2016 #1
Why: As usual I love one shots and since I also love Hellboy it’s hard to miss this one. It has three Hellboy stories including one written by thriller writer Chelsea Cain and another by the great Tim Sale.
2. Chew #54
Why: Once again Chew is on my top list. This amazing series is getting closer and closer to the end. Layman and Guillory have never ceased to put out fantastic content and it will be a shame when it does end.
3. Revival #36
Why: This is the start of a new arc for Revival, and a great jumping-on point for new readers. Don’t miss our upcoming interview with Revival’s creators about this issue and Revival’s future.
4. Faith #1
Why: As someone who always wanted to get into Valiant comics but never found the time to really dip into the universe, this new number one is an opportunity. Faith follows a plus sized female superhero which is unusual enough to be noted.
5. Saga #33
Why: Vaughan’s comic book continues to play with my emotions but this current arc is at least not as negative as the previous one. Still, something horrible happens every issue and I keep asking for more!

1. Bloodshot Reborn #10
Why: Bloodshot Reborn #10 starts a new arc and transports our hero 30 years into a very Mad Max-esque future. It looks to have some great action and character moments. It’s also been one of the best books on the stands since it debuted.
2. Victorie City #1
Why: I got to chat with Keith Carmack the writer and creator of Victorie City and it really got me hyped about the book. I can’t wait to see this dark, grimy world and meet Detective Ness as he attempts to track down a depraved serial killer. I love a good noir story.
3. Transformers: Sins of the Wreckers #3
Why: This is a different type of Transformers book. It has a lot of politics and the group dynamic and all the different personalities among the Wreckers makes for an interesting tale. Not to mention it has an espionage theme to it and this issue looks to really test the Wreckers.
4. Strayer #1
Why: Justin Jordan begins a new story with Juan Gedeon involving a world full of monsters where one man kills them for a fee. That man is forced into helping Mala save the world whether he likes it or not. It’s got a different spin and it looks to be a fun fantasy adventure.
5. Kanan: The Last Padawan #10
Why: I’m a sucker for everything Star Wars, but I’ve actually quite enjoyed this series and it has done a great job of fleshing out Kanan’s past and this issue looks to do even more of that as Caleb Dume first days in the Clone Wars are revealed!
