Marvel Announces Ant-Man and The Wasp Has Begun Production With Hilarious Video!

Marvel Studios isn’t slowing down. With eyes on the soon to be released Avengers: Infinity War trailer and Thor: Ragnarok coming out this November, one would think the studio might take a bit of a break and breathe. That’s not the case.

Today Marvel Studios announced that Ant-Man and the Wasp just started production and they did it in the most hilarious way!

Check out the creative announcement below!

This production announcement comes off the heels of major casting announcements including Michelle Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer will be taking on the role of the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne, in the upcoming sequel. In the first movie, Dr. Hank Pym revealed that Janet Van Dyne sacrificed herself to save millions of Americans from a nuclear bomb. Her sacrifice took her into the Quantum Realm where as Dr. Pym explains she is shrinking forever. However, Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is able to travel to the Quantum Realm and return. We also got to see Dr. Pym unveil a prototype Wasp outfit for his daughter, Hope.

Little is known about the story of the upcoming sequel. But we can expect to see these characters face off against some past foes while at the same time dealing with issues related to Janet going sub-atomic.

A character that is being introduced in this move that has caught some eyes is Dr. Bill Foster aka Goliath. The ever-talented Laurence Fishburne will take on his role. In the Ant-Man and the Wasp comics, he was originally a lab assistant of Dr. Hank Pym who assisted in his Pym particle research. I hope to see some of that story make the cut of the movie.

With a release date two months after Avengers: Infinity War one has to wonder how much Ant-Man and Wasp will affect that movie. As well as how much of the Infinity War will spill into Ant-Man and  the Wasp. Marvel has been good at keeping the pace and time lines of each of their movies within the cinematic universe in order, so I look forward to seeing how they handle this.

The sequel will see the return of much of the talent from the first Ant-Man. Peyton Reed will take his seat in the director’s chair. Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Farrari, and star Paul Rudd wrote the screenplay. Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michael Douglas, T.I., and David Dastmalchian will all be returning.

Are you excited about the production news? I know I am, and I cannot wait to see the trailer!
