A new photo surfaced giving us our first look at Chris Evans’ new Captain America suit for Avengers 4.
Take a look:
As you can tell the new suit keeps Captain America’s helmet which has become a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it does have a brand new texture as it appears they are using scale armor, an upgrade from the leather suits we’ve previously seen.
This new suit also looks much more polished and new compared to what we saw in Avengers: Infinity War. In the last film, Captain America had been on the run and gone into hiding. It didn’t look like he had access to a sewing machine, paint, or a washing machine as his bright white star had faded and his suit was torn up.
You can see the evolution of Captain America’s suits below:
Captain America’s new suit will be on full display when Avengers 4 comes to theaters on May 3, 2019.
It’s possible the suit could evolve even more in that film. It’s not unheard of to see Captain America have multiple suits in his movies. He had at least three in Captain America: The First Avenger.
And in Avengers: Infinity War, not only did he have a worn down and faded suit, but he also no longer had his shield as he abandoned it in Captain America: Civil War. Instead of his shield, he used two small mini-shields made of Vibranium.
Avengers 4 will see Marvel’s heroes make sacrifices in order to maintain their reality. Marvel describes the film as a “turning point” in their “epic journey.”
Avengers 4 is directed by Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The film will star Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin, Letitia Wright, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Evangeline Lilly.
