Black Panther Clip Shows Off Best Fight Sequence Yet!

Marvel Studios released a brand new Black Panther clip titled, “It’s A Set Up.” The clip shows off a phenomenal action sequence with Danai Gurira’s Okoye and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia taking out a number of Klaw’s security team when a deal between Andy Serkis’ Klaw and Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross and Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa goes south.

Take a look:

The action isn’t the only exciting aspect of this scene. It’s the intrigue and espionage. One of the initial reactions to the film called Black Panther the James Bond film of the MCU. And this scene definitely has the spy thriller aspects galore. First off, they are doing a deal in a casino. Secondly, they get made. And once, they’ve been made they have to rely on their skills and talents to turn the situation back in their favor. It’s very much James Bond esque!

Along with the spy thriller setup, there is also some important character moments here. And if you don’t pay attention at the very beginning you might miss it. There is definite conflict between Danai Gurira’s Okoye and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia. In fact, Nakia appears to want to make a move right now, while Okoye tells her to “Stand down!” She issues her order a little too loudly and the situation begins heading south at least for Black Panther and his team.

But for us in the audience, the action kicks into high gear. Okoye shows just how skilled she is with her staff weapon.

However, there is maybe one downside to this entire scene. Klaw, T’Challa, and Everett K. Ross are oblivious to the confrontation on the floor above them until Okoye knocks down one of Klaw’s guards. It’s a little unbelievable Klaw wouldn’t have noticed the confrontation happening above him or that someone would not have radioed the deal was a set up.

After that we get some more intense action from both Ross, T’Challa, and Nakia. Nakia even takes one of her shoes and uses it as a lethal weapon! The camera then finally pans back to Okoye, who is once again using her formidable staff talents to keep her attackers at bay. And at the very end of the clip we even get a hint of Wakandan technology as the staff appears to shock one of her foes.

Black Panther comes to theaters on February 16, 2018.
