Right now Barcelona, Spain is hosting CineEurope and it has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that footage from Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 was shown to attendees.

The Avengers 4 footage wasn’t glamorous according to a report from MCU Cosmic. They described it as a custome made video for the attendees with Kevin Feige sitting in a chair apologizing to attendees for cutting down their hero roster. It was supposed to be funny and make the viewers laugh. However, Feige did hint that the remaining Avengers will need to team up once again in order to take on Thanos.
The Captain Marvel featurette according to reports had someone saying, “Captain Marvel is about to take the lead in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.” It was not revealed who said this line. However, it also did show footage from the film, but it was meant only to “introduce people to Carol Danvers.” The MCU Cosmic report also confirms “the footage shown highlighted her as a character and talked about how he would become the new face and leader of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while talking a little bit about her powers and how powerful of a character she is.”
If this is true it gives us a pretty big clue as to the direction Feige and Marvel Studios will be taking the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers 4. It also seems to confirm the rumblings indicating Captain Marvel would be playing a much larger role moving forward. It would also see a leadership shakeup with Carol Danvers possibly filling in for Captain America or Iron Man moving forward.
Along with the Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 footage, Marvel Studios also showed off some scenes from Ant-Man and The Wasp. MCU Cosmic reports there were three clips in total and they highlight the family tone of the film, action, and humor.
Captain Marvel is expected to be released next March 8th. With Avengers 4 following two months later with a released date of May 3, 2019.
