Actor Chris Evans who portrayed Johnny Storm in Fox’s original Fantastic Four franchise and who currently portrays Captain America in Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe had a hilarious idea if the rumors about Disney buying Fox come to fruition.

The latest rumor sees Disney purchasing Fox within the week. However, Disney isn’t the only company in pursuit of Fox. Reports indicated Sony, Comcast, and Verizon were also looking to purchase the company.

If those rumors do happen to come true, Evans wants to see a Captain America/Human Torch team-up film. He describes the film as a buddy comedy in the vein of the John Candy and Steve Martin film, Planes Trains & Automobiles mashed-up with the Parent Trap.  Planes, Trains & Automobiles saw a man struggling to travel home for Thanksgiving with an obnoxious slob of a shower curtain ring salesman. While Parent Trap sees two teenage sisters swap places and attempt to reunite their divorced parents.

Now that would be a comedy I would go see especially if Evans is able to reprise his role as both the Human Torch and Captain America. Can you imagine Johnny Storm launching fireballs at Captain America who easily deflects them with his shield back at Johnny? I could see Cap trying to make his way back to the Avengers while Johnny Storm

Evans portrayed the Human Torch back in 2005’s Fantastic Four alongside Ioan Gruffudd’s Reed Richards, Jessica Alba’s Sue Storm, and Michael Chiklis’ Ben Grimm. The four were opposed by Julian McMahon’s Victor Von Doom. Evans would reunite with the Fantastic Four in the sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer.

After Fox did not continue with the current cast with the Fantastic Four, Evans would win the role of Captain America and star in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger. He would go on to star in Captain America: Winter Soldier, Avengers, Captain America: Civil War, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

What do you think about Chris Evans’ movie idea? Would you go see it?
