Death Note’s Lakeith Stanfield Eyes The Joker As His Next Role!

Stanfield has built quite a resume in a short time. He starred in 2014’s Selma as Jimmie Lee Jackson. He then went on to play Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton. He portrayed Patrick Haynes in the Snowden film and was recently in Get Out as Andrew Logan King. He also plays Darius in the television show, Atlanta. He most recently played L in Netflix’s Death Note.

Fans were pretty divided about it. Many believe he would be amazing, while others were not so enthused.

As for the Joker origin film, not much is really known about it at this point. What we do know is that The Hangover’s Todd Phillips will be co-writing with 8 mile’s Scott Silver. Phillips will also be directing. Scorsese is attached as a producer. They are looking for a younger Joker and want to channel Scorsese’s 80s films like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, or The King of Comedy.

Do you think Lakeith Stanfield would make a good Joker?
