Disney Drops Brand New Wreck-It Ralph 2 Official Trailer!

Disney just dropped their first official trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.

Watch:

The trailer starts off with Ralph running up to Vanellope and announcing they are about to “Blast Off!” Vanellope is rather confused and asks Ralph what exactly he is telling her. That’s when he begrudgingly tells her they are going to Internet.

The trailer kicks into gear with a Daft Punk song humming in the background as Vanellope and Ralph blast off into the internet! The trailer actually showcases a pretty lengthy scene where Vanellope and Ralph ride a cable into the “internet.” I’m not sure if it has any meaning but Vanellope gets a blue pill like shape to ride in, while Ralph has a red pill. Could it be a Matrix Easter Egg?

Once they get to the “Internet,” there are tons of other people in their own flying pills. There’s even a huge Amazon building, Twitter birds, SnapChat, Facebook, Google, IMDB, and more. Vanellope declares it, “the most beautiful miracle I’ve ever seen.”

The two eventually stop by search engine where Vanellope asks to be taken to a place that is “super intense and really nuts.” There’s only one result and it’s Disney. Vanellope is unimpressed with the princesses and cartoon characters. Eeyore shows up and he’s not impressed with Vanellope’s take. However, there’s more than just princesses and cartoon characters as we get a look at Star Wars, Marvel, The Muppets, Pixar, and Disney Animation buildings. A group of Stormtroopers even try to capture her!

As Vanellope is escaping the Stormtroopers she ends up in the exclusive Disney princess room where Cinderalla is about to cut her with a broken glass. She then gets grilled on what her talents and powers are. Vanellope finally confirms her Princess credentials when she says all her problems were solved when a big strong man shows up.

The trailer comes to a close with Wreck-It Ralph questioning the title of the film. He rightfully points out the title should be “Wrecks the Internet.”

This isn’t the best trailer I’ve seen. In fact, I’d say this is a rather subpar trailer. It’s missing the iconic elements from the first film with Vanellope racing her car. The trailer also doesn’t show Fix-It Felix or Sergeant Calhoun and her troopers that fight off the Cy-Bug’s in the Hero’s Duty arcade game. Hopefully, a second trailer showcases these character and we get an idea of what the actual storyline will be in a subsequent trailer. I’ve still got a lot of hope for this movie, but that line with Disney Princesses has soured some of it.

Wreck-It Ralph 2 hits theaters this Thanksgiving on November 21, 2018. The film stars John C. Reilly as Ralph, Sarah Silverman as Vanellope, Jack McBrayer as Felix, Jane Lynch as Calhou, and Ed O’Neill as Mr. Litwak.
