Dragon Ball Super: Broly Announces Broly’s Super Saiyan Title

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is getting closer and closer to its release date. And as it gets closer the more we are finding out about the upcoming film.

The official Dragon Ball Super website recently released a number of character biographies for the cast of the upcoming film. And of course Broly was featured.

The character biography as translated by Todd Blankenship confirms Broly has a new or is at least returning to his old Super Saiyan title of Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power).

This is a change from Broly’s original appearance where he had a unique Super Saiyan transformation called Super Saiyan (B-Type). It’s also sometimes referred to as Legendary Super Saiyan. Vegeta even refers to him as the Legendary Super Saiyan once he makes this transformation.

When Broly transforms using Super Saiyan (B-Type) it drastically altered his personality as well as his physical appearance.

He would get raised golden hair with a tint of green. His body increases in mass dramatically with huge bulging muscles. His eyes become pupiless and he has a fiery, golden aura with a green tint around him.

His personality also changes from docile and quiet to bloodthirsty and extremely vocal. In fact, he’ll have loud outbursts accompanied by psychotic laughing and yelling. He also chooses to torture his foes rather than outright killing him.

Blankenship also translated a new summary from the website.

It reads:

“Earth is peaceful following the Tournament of Power. Realizing that the universes still hold many more strong people yet to see, Goku spends all his days training to reach even greater heights. Then one day, Goku and Vegeta are faced by a Saiyan called “Broly” who they’ve never seen before. The Saiyans were supposed to have been almost completely wiped out in the destruction of Planet Vegeta, so what’s this one doing on Earth? This encounter between three Saiyans who have followed completely different destinies turns into a stupendous battle, with even Freeza (back from Hell) getting caught up in the mix.”

Dragon Ball Super: Broly will hit theaters in Japan in December and will make a United States debut some time in January of 2019.
