Lionsgate Movies revealed our first look at Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo in the upcoming Rambo V film.

The film is expected to be John Rambo’s last adventure as he takes on a Mexican drug cartel. Not only will Rambo be taking on a Mexican drug cartel, but it will also show him struggling with PTSD as he struggles to find work in while living on a ranch in Arizona.
He will be called back to action when his longtime friend and estate manager Maria tells him that her daughter has gone missing after she went to a party in Mexico and never returned.
The film is expected to have a Taken vibe as Rambo will uncover a sex-trafficking ring and team-up with a journalist who is looking for her half-sister who has also been kidnapped.
The film series is based on the novel First Blood by David Morrel and showcases Vietnam War veteran and former U.S. Army Special Forces soldier John Rambo. He’s highly skilled in survival, guerilla warfare, hand-to-hand combat, as well as proficient with a number of firearms.
There have been four total films in the franchise alongside an animated series. Rambo has faced numerous opponents including a corrupt sheriff named Will Teasle in [easyazon_link identifier=”B000LVAQDE” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Rambo: First Blood[/easyazon_link]. He’s also faced off against the Vietnam and the Soviet Union as he works to free captured POWs. He would face off against the Soviet Union as he leads another rescue mission into Afghanistan. In [easyazon_link identifier=”B001AMVKOC” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Rambo[/easyazon_link], he would lead another rescue mission into Burma and faced off against the Burmese Army.
Rambo V will be directed by Adrian Grunberg. The screenplay is by Matthew Cirulnick. Along with Stallone reprising his role as John Rambo, the film will star Paz Vega, Adriana Barraza, Oscar Jaenada, Yvette Monreal, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Sheila Shah.
Stallone revealed the film would most likely come out in the Fall of 2019 on Instagram.
Stallone will next appear in Creed II which comes out on November 21, 2018.
