First Reaction from Avengers: Infinity War is Here!

Avengers: Infinity War is still just a few weeks away, but early screenings are going out and those lucky few have had a chance to witness what we’re all waiting for. Well, at least they’ve gotten to see about the first half hour of Avengers: Infinity War.

One such screening just took place in London, and the reactions aren’t what you’d expect.

Digital Spy Film reports:

“We’ve just seen 30 mins of #AvengersInfinityWar. Can’t say too much but it’s way ambitious, it’ll switch tones between different groups (the Guardians sequence had a very different, look, feel and soundtrack to the New York scenes) and it’s going to be funny. Still no Hawkeye!”

Funny isn’t what I was expecting. Especially after watching the trailers. I had in mind a film that would sail closer to drama and would be less Guardians of the Galaxy and more of a harsher tone like what we saw in Captain America: Civil War. Granted there were some funny moments in the trailer when the Guardians meet up with Iron Man and when Spider-Man meets Doctor Strange. We’ve also seen a hilarious clip where the Guardians meet Thor. In the tweet above they do point out the shift in tones as they move between the groups. It makes me wonder how the movie will come out with so many shifts throughout the film.

With that said. Thanks to the cosmic nature of Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy, we might see the Norse god of Thunder become a bridge between the two factions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they all team up against Thanos.

Another thing to keep in mind is the unknown relationship between Captian America and Iron Man. Both will face off against the Mad Titan, but their unresolved personal issues from Captain America: Civil War might hinder them early in the film.

Finally, the tweet mentions no Hawkeye. The expert archer has been missing from all the promotional posters, and other material related to Infinity War. This has made fans wonder what is going on with the beloved character.

Either way with all the tones and shifts mentioned, it seems that the Russo brothers have been able to strike balance between all these competing themes and personalities. Something that viewers seem happy about.

Avengers: Infinity War will find its way to a waiting audience April 27th.
