Harley Quinn Will Return to the Big Screen With Gotham City Sirens Film!

Harley Quinn will return to the big screen with a Gotham City Sirens film.

Margot Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn. And she didn’t come alone, Suicide Squad director David Ayer is coming along to direct the feature film. The movie will involve the Gotham City Sirens, and it will bring together the DC Universe’s top female villains from Batman’s rogue gallery. Not only will Robbie star in the series she will also executive produce.

A recent comics series written by Paul Dini with art by Guillem March, [easyazon_link identifier=”1401251757″ locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Sirens[/easyazon_link] follows some of the toughest female villains DC has to offer including Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and fan favorite, Catwoman. It’s unclear whether the new movie will feature the same roster aside from Quinn.

Also coming along for the adventure will be Geneva Robertson-Dworet to pen the script. Geneva is best known for her work in the soon to be released Tomb Raider reboot. Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will also be involved in the production.

Though Suicide Squad had issues with post production with re-shoots, it still grossed over $745.6 million globally which places it in the top fifteen highest grossing superhero films. With Justice League and Wonder-Woman going full steam ahead, its obvious that DC is investing heavily in its movie universe.

Along with this Gotham City Sirens film, DC is already lining up a Suicide Squad sequel and are looking at a Deadshot spin-off with Will Smith reprising the role. Warner Bros is putting the Gotham City Sirens film on the fast track.
