Honest Trailers Roasts Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Maybe one of the most anticipated Honest Trailers was Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it finally has arrived.

The trailer begins by saying, “Forget the love letter to the originals that was The Force Awakens because Episode 8 subverts everything you’ve come to expect making it the worst one ever.”

From there it just gets better.

The best part was when they begin discussing the unanswered questions setup in the The Force Awakens. “Who are Rey’s parents? Nobody. Who is Snoke? Some dead guy. And how did Maz Kanata get Luke’s lightsaber. It doesn’t matter and you are stupid for asking.”

As the trailer comes to a close it sends a pretty chilling message to Disney and Lucasfilm. Star Wars: The Last One You’ll Pay To See (dramatic pause) Until the Next One Comes Out (dramatic pause again) Maybe.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi would dominate the box office bringing in nearly $620 million in domestic gross and another $712 million in foreign gross for a worldwide gross of over $1.3 billion. Star Wars: The Last Jedi currently sits as the 7th All Time Domestic film and the 9th All Time Worldwide. However, if you adjust the film for inflation it falls to 42nd all time.

While the movie would rake in the cash at the box office and receive very positive reviews from critics, the movie would divide fans. The Rotten Tomatoes Audience score has the film at 48%.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was directed by Rian Johnson. It starred Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and Andy Serkis. The film is now available to purchase on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital.
